Itinerary

Day 1 - Tokyo: Arrival in Japan
  • Upon arrival at Narita or Haneda Airport, head to your hotel in Tokyo, either via public transit or private transfer (available as an add-on).

  • Depending on when you arrive in Tokyo, you may still be able to catch some nighttime cherry-blossom illuminations. Check in to your hotel in Tokyo, and enjoy the rest of the night.

Day 2 - Tokyo: Asakusa and Ueno
  • Explore Tokyo at your own pace on this day.

  • For sightseeing, shopping, and cherry blossoms combined, visit the retro districts of Ueno, home to Ueno Park and Ameyoko Shopping Street, and Asakusa, where you’ll find the famous Sensoji Temple and Nakamise Shopping Street.

  • How about ending your evening with a dinner cruise on a traditional leisure boat called a yakatabune (available as an add-on)?

Day 3 - Tokyo: City Exploration
  • Continue sightseeing around Tokyo on this day.

  • Visit popular locations you may have missed the previous day, while also exploring more low-key neighborhoods for a relaxed experience.

  • Refer to the personalized recommendations we provide before your trip, or enhance your day by booking a local guide to discover hidden spots (available as an add-on).

Day 4 - Tokyo to Mt. Fuji: Sakura Views & Ryokan Stay
  • Start this day early, as you will be heading out to the Mt. Fuji area.

  • Meet your driver for your private transfer to the ryokan inn where you will spend the night. Along the way, you will stop at 1-2 scenic spots for viewing Mt. Fuji. In spring, you might even see the picture-perfect sight of Mt. Fuji framed by cherry blossoms.

  • You will also go up Mt. Fuji itself, specifically, its 5th Station, which can be accessed by car, no need for hiking! Upon arrival at your ryokan, look forward to your seasonal multi-course dinner, try bathing in communal hot-spring baths, and unwind for the rest of the night.

Day 5 - Mt. Fuji to Kyoto: Explore Kyoto
  • After check-out, take a bus and Shinkansen bullet train to your next destination: Kyoto, where you can immerse yourself in traditional Japanese culture.

  • As we will book your bus and Shinkansen according to your preferences, you can leave earlier to spend as much time in Kyoto as possible, or leave right around 10 am to reach Kyoto in the early afternoon.

  • Assuming an afternoon arrival at Kyoto, how about sampling street food at Nishiki Market, booking a tea ceremony (available as add-on), and enjoying nighttime cherry blossom illuminations at selected locations?

Day 6 - Kyoto: Full-Day Sightseeing
  • You will have the entire day to explore Kyoto, so why not start by renting a kimono (available as add-on) to stroll around the streets of Kyoto in style?

  • Take the time to visit Kyoto’s historical temples and shrines, as well as famous locations such as the Gion geisha quarter and scenic Arashiyama.

  • We recommend booking convenient private transfer (available as add-on) on this day to avoid having to take crowded buses, as well as a local guide (available as add-on) who can show you Kyoto charms from an insider’s perspective.

Day 7 - Kyoto to Osaka: Transfer & Freetime
  • Check out of your hotel in Kyoto to transfer to neighboring Osaka, just 30 minutes away by rapid train. As you do not need a reservation to take the rapid train, you can head to Osaka whenever you like.

  • Or, if you’d rather travel in comfort, you can book a private transfer from Kyoto to Osaka (available as an add-on).

  • At Osaka, shop as much as you like at the vibrant shopping streets of Namba and Shinsaibashi, and/or enjoy local nightlife and delicacies such as takoyaki and okonomiyaki at Dotonbori.

Day 8 - Osaka: Sightseeing or Theme Park
  • Pick up some local history with a visit to Osaka Castle, and admire the cherry blossoms all around its surrounding park.

  • Other recommended things to do include taking in panoramic city views at one of several popular observatories, visiting Osaka Kaiyukan Aquarium, doing even more shopping at other shopping districts such as Umeda and Nipponbashi, or enjoying the retro vibes of the Shinsekai area.

  • Or, if you’ve already done plenty of sightseeing around Osaka on the previous day, spend this entire day enjoying a variety of attractions at Universal Studios Japan.

Day 9 - Osaka to Tokyo: Return Journey
  • On this day, you will take a Shinkansen back to Tokyo.

  • You can choose to spend most of your day in Osaka, leave for Tokyo right after check-out to spend more time sightseeing in Tokyo, or split your day between Osaka and Tokyo.

  • Just let us know which you prefer, and we’ll take care of the rest for you.

Day 10 - Tour Ends: Departure from Japan
  • Though your Japan adventure ends on this day, depending on the time of your flight, you may still have time to do some last-minute sightseeing.

  • We recommend strolling around a park or traditional garden to see cherry blossoms one last time before you go. Then, approximately 3 hours before your flight, head to Narita or Haneda Airport for your return flight, either via public transit or private transfer (available as an add-on).
